Our desire is to help you create A MEMORABLE EXPERIENCE by providing refined comfort, genuine personal warmth, and accommodating your degree of personal solitude or integration, all at your own pace. Whether you are taking in a Virginia Tech football game; visiting the Floyd country Store Friday Night Jamboree or seeking a romantic getaway you have found the perfect place.
Relax at the Mountain Song Inn or venture beyond our acres of trails and gardens. Getting there is half the fun in scenic Floyd County. Most roads provide a "view-at-every-turn," from extraordinary mountain vistas; to cattle and horse farms set amid lush, green fields; to three acclaimed wineries. The authentic town of Floyd is a major stop on “The Crooked Road: Virginia’s Heritage Music Trail.” At the center of it all is the Floyd Country Store, one of the best venues in the nation to hear authentic mountain music. Friday nights are magical in Floyd with dancers flat footing to Bluegrass and Old Time bands at the Friday Night Jamboree, musicians playing on every corner, and the Artisans Market selling crafts, paintings, plants, tie-died shirts and more. Don’t miss the jam sessions on Saturday and Sunday afternoons downtown, along with the Floyd Farmers Market every Saturday morning from May-October. There are unique restaurants, great finds at our art galleries and more music venues in Floyd for those who enjoy folk, rock ‘n roll, country rock and jazz. The New River Valley, Christiansburg, Radford University and Blacksburg, home of the nationally famous Virginia Tech Hokies, are within a 30-minute scenic drive. And don’t forget, Mountain Song Inn can be your sanctuary when visiting FloydFest in late July.
Interstate 81 and Interstate 77 also are within 30 minutes of the Inn, providing "Maine / Florida" travelers an ideal, midway repose.
Close to Mountain Song Inn are three noted wineries, Chateau Morrisette, Villa Appalaccia, and AmRhein, fine and unique dining experiences, specialty and antique shops, historic sites, flea markets, hiking, mountain lakes, state parks, plenty of Blue Grass music, and beautiful pasture lands. Our little county has a meadery and a cidery too. We haven't even mentioned the Blue Ridge Parkway which serves as our eastern border. The Parkway in itself is a reason to visit, plus a reason to return.
